Available Programs

Currently, Ekklesia offers 9 certificate programs, and a diploma program.

Laity Programs

Ekklesia offers three different certificate level programs as follows:

  • Basic Level — 2 Programs
  • Advanced Level 1 — 4 Programs
  • Advanced Level 2 — 3 Programs

As seen above, there are 9 laity certificate programs spread over three trimesters. The successful completion of one certificate is as a prerequisite for another certificate in a subsequent trimester.

Students who complete Christianity Basics 1 in the first trimester may proceed to Christianity Basics 2 in the second trimester. They may also proceed to the clergy path. (See below.) Christianity Basics 2 would qualify the student to proceed to Christianity Basics 3 in the third trimester.

Students who complete Christian Service in the first trimester have 3 options to choose from in the second trimester. They may opt for Leadership, Music and Business. In the third trimester, students who took the Leadership or Business certificate programs in the second trimester may take Leadership 2 and Business 2 respectively.

It is not compulsory for a student to go beyond the First Trimester. Students can choose not to proceed beyond the Basic Level. Students can also choose to defer their movement to the Advanced Level 1 or Advanced Level 2 to another academic session. The prerequisite Certificates for the Advanced Level 1 and 2 Programs will be valid for three years.

Classes hold on 7 or 8 fortnight Saturdays from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m., over a period of about 3 months.

At the end of each trimester successful students will be awarded with a Certificate in their program.

Clergy Program

The training of students on the clergy actually begins in the first trimester. Students must have successfully completed the certificate program: Christianity Basics 1 in the first trimester. This program is the prerequisite for a student to be admitted into the clergy path in the second trimester, and continues in the third trimester.

Classes in the clergy program in the Second and Third Trimesters hold from Monday to Friday (and some Saturdays) from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., over a period of 8 months, with breaks interspersed over the School Year.

At the end of the School Year successful students will be awarded with a Diploma in Pastoral Studies.

The School is very intensive and demanding for both paths and thus requires a lot of self-drive and self-motivation on the part of students.
